The Ergo Waist Extender extends the Ergo Baby Carrier's waist circumference from 43" to 52".  The waist extender can be very useful for wearing the carrier over a heavy winter coat, or for enabling two caregivers of different sizes to use the same carrier.  When I was pregnant, I used the waist extender so the waist belt would fit under my belly.  Then I could carry my toddler on my back while the Ergo waist belt doubled as a belly support band!
