I will never go back to disposable pads, even when leaving the house! They are soft and easy to put on. Women with heavier cycles may find them to be too small, but if you have lighter periods they will work just fine for you. I either throw them in with my loads of diapers to wash, or I float them face down in a bucket of cold water (the blood will leave the pad and join the water) and then wash with a load of towels and sheets in hot water.
My beef with these pads is that the internal pad that soaks up the fluid is only sewn on the ends, so when it comes out of the wash, it's often twisted. It takes some time to re-straighten the lining of each pad (working from the outside), and that can be tedious. I've since tried another brand, which uses an entirely stitched inner soaker pad, and it's MUCH easier. They come out of the wash in one piece, with no untwisting to be done.
Still, I'm happy with this product and will continue to use the HH mama pads that I currently own.
